West Little Rock born and raised. On the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool and all shootin’ some b-ball outside of my school ---- errrrr...... wait, just kidding. But seriously, who doesn't love The Fresh Prince?
The truth is, its hard to sum me up in a couple of sentences. I have a Bachelors of Interior Design from the School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas. I began my career as a designer for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in Bethesda, Maryland. I married my high school hunk and moved to Aspen, Colorado to design for Poss Architecture and Planning, who specializes in high end residential and hotel design. Projects ranging from a palatial vacation residence for a Prince to a Trump Hotel in Baja, Mexico. Upon return to Arkansas, I transitioned from Hotel Designer to private jet design at Dassault Falcon Jet. Great job - even better clients -- but very little creative freedom. So I started Georgia James Creative in 2010 to pursue my first love, residential and hotel design. And why not throw in weddings and events right?
May 9, 2012 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. I went through 8 rounds of chemo and a double mastectomy. In the midst of recovery I found joy in my life by founding a non profit, Fighting Fancy.
September 2013 I opened my first retail store inside Scarlet, a women's boutique in Pleasant Ridge. Scarlet is your one stop shop, with a hair salon, eyelash beautician, in house realtor, photography studio, home goods, interior design and wedding planning. I mean what else could you want?
